Greensboro is governed under the council-manager form of government, with the council serving as the legislative body of City government. City Council is comprised of a mayor and eight council members who serve four year terms. The mayor and three council members are elected at-large and the remaining five council members are elected from districts, with elections being held every four years. The Council is responsible for setting and directing policy regarding operations of City government, as well as approving the City’s budget. The city manager serves as the chief executive officer of the City organization and is responsible for the execution of council policy and for the management of day to day operations of City government.
Explore various components and activities of the Managers Office. Intern will provide support to manager’s office, provide data research and project assistance. Opportunities exist to work with City Attorney’s Office and attend public meetings.
