Internship Description

Corporate Finance is comprised of three areas:
1. Controller’s Department – Responsible for the financial accounting and internal/external reporting operations of the Company on both a U.S. GAAP and Statutory Accounting Principles basis while monitoring the internal control environment and maintenance of key systems and software applications.
2. Financial Planning & Analysis – Performs budgeting, forecasting and analysis that supports major corporate decisions of the CFO, CEO and Board of Directors and is integral in risk/regulatory related reporting requirements (ORSA, PMIERs).
3. Treasury – Manages liquidity and underlying financial investments and focuses on risk management related to financial activities through optimizing the Company’s capital structure along with oversight of borrowing capacity and needs. Intern responsibilities may include, but are not limited to: journal entry preparation, report analysis, general ledger accounting reconciliations, preparation and analysis of financial statements, assisting with internal/external auditor requests, accounting research, internal control documentation, budgeting and financial planning support, regulatory research and capital and investment analysis.
