The Guilford Green Foundation & LGBTQ Center unites and strengthens the greater Greensboro community by supporting and elevating our LGBTQ community.

We do this by operating the LGBTQ Center where we host programs and initiatives that advance our mission, and by providing financial support for other nonprofits working with LGBTQ people.

Internship Description

Internships   are primarily focused on program management, event planning, and fundraising.   Most interns work on programming at the center and provide general support to   center guests. Previous interns have planned and led programming for LGBTQ   youth and seniors, managed our transgender clothing closet, organized name   change clinics, and expanded our community resource directory.

We plan to introduce   more outdoor programming for LGBTQ people in 2021. While it is not required,   interns with an interest in outdoor recreation (camping, hiking, kayaking,   etc.) are encouraged to apply for this summer internship. Interns working on   the outdoors program would be responsible for planning and leading outdoor   activities.

Interns interested in   developing their fundraising skills will have the opportunity to work on   annual giving campaigns, assist with grant research and grant writing, and   learn about donor data management systems.

All interns will   practice basic workplace skills including guest and donor communication   (in-writing and in-person), and planning, scheduling, and following up on   activities relevant to their role.
