On Friday, April 8th, close to 150 students from Greensboro’s 7 Colleges and Universities came to downtown Greensboro’s co//ab to interview for internships as part of the Opportunity Greensboro Fellows Program. Students arrived with crisp copies of their resumes, and they were dressed professionally to impress and land an internship in the competitive Fellows Program. Throughout the busy day, employers commented on the high quality of the students they interviewed, as well as their excitement to be involved in this inaugural program.
“Friday could not have gone better, and I attribute much of the success to the local organizations/hiring manager’s willingness to participate and adapt to the fast paced environment, ” said Beth Mannella, Fellows Program Director. Throughout the day, Beth and her colleagues from Action Greensboro greeted students and hiring managers, and ensured the flow of interviews was seamless for all members involved.
Organizations offering internships will extend offers by Friday, April 15th, and we look forward to announcing this year’s Summer Fellows Program cohort in the weeks to come!
