Nicole’s experience:

I am lucky beyond words to be interning with the Center for Board Excellence this summer. As a marketing and technology intern, I research potential clients, create mailing packets, and help manage the company’s CRM. I must admit that diving headfirst into the world of corporate governance was daunting in the beginning–after all, at Elon I study literature, professional writing & rhetoric, and women’s, gender, & sexuality studies–but my supervisors and co-workers have assured me that unique perspectives yield valuable results. They’ve even tailored my responsibilities to match my academic interests. While I do love learning about business and law, projects that allow me to edit CBE documents and research gender diversity on corporate boards are by far the most rewarding.

None of this would be possible without the Opportunity Greensboro Fellows Program. I am grateful and humbled to have the support of this program behind me while I grow as a professional and make Greensboro my home.
