What the Fellows Program Adds to Your Internship Experience

The Fellows Program is designed to complement, not complicate, your internship structure.

     We provide:

     Custom Professional Leadership Experience

     A professionally facilitated leadership training that builds confidence, communication skills, and self-awareness, strengthening your intern’s           contribution during the summer and beyond.

     Curated Community & Employer Engagement

     Students engage with leaders and professionals across industries, broadening their understanding of our community’s business landscape.

     Ongoing Professional Development

     Throughout the summer, Fellows participate in structured events that encourage reflection, exploration, and peer connection.

Interns return to your organization more confident, more aware of local opportunity, and more invested in the community they’re experiencing.

 

No-Cost Participation for Eligible Interns

Thanks to the support of community partners, there is no cost to employers whose interns fall within one of the following categories:

     Local College Students

                         Students attending:

  •                          University of North Carolina at Greensboro
  •                          Guilford College
  •                          Greensboro College
  •                          Guilford Technical Community College
  •                          Bennett College
  •                          Elon University (including the School of Law)
  •                          North Carolina A&T State University

    

     Guilford County High School Graduates

     Students who graduated from Guilford County high schools and are now pursuing higher education elsewhere.

     First-Generation College Students

     Students who are the first in their families to attend college or university.

These eligibility pathways strengthen Guilford County’s long-term student-to-career pipeline, expanding opportunity while reinforcing local retention.

Sponsor Participation for Additional Interns

For interns outside the eligibility categories, employers may sponsor participation for $1,000 per intern.

This investment covers the full Fellows experience and demonstrates a commitment to:

  • Expanding student exposure
  • Supporting guided career discovery
  • Strengthening the local talent ecosystem
  • Retaining ambitious, emerging leaders
