This role involves assisting with outreach, event logistics, and managing program data. Startup Support Intern - Launch Greensboro
Application Deadline: 10/28/2024 11:59 PM | As our Startup Support Intern, you will work with the entrepreneurs participating in our programs by completing a wide variety of projects that help their companies' development. You will also be tasked with supporting different projects for Launch Greensboro in an effort to make a large impact on the entrepreneurial community in the Triad. You should be prepared to work in a fast-paced, hands-on setting and will finish the internship having gained broad experience in various aspects of entrepreneurship. Working hours will be up to 10 hours per week, depending on workload. Scope of Responsibilities: Attend weekly LaunchLab programming (Mondays), actively participating and engaging in the program as well as helping with meeting setup and clean up. Assisting entrepreneurs with business projects from inception to completion. Examples of assigned projects include: designing marketing materials such as brochures on Canva, conducting market research, website updates, product photography, financial model builds, social media setup and strategic planning, customer discovery, and more. Assisting Launch Greensboro on different projects as assigned. Internship: Juvenile Counselor Technician - Guilford County Government
Application Deadline: 1/30/2025 11:59 PM | GENERAL STATEMENT OF DUTIES Performs security and custody work in supervising juveniles in the County Juvenile Detention Center. DISTINGUISHING FEATURES OF THE CLASS Employees in this class are responsible for carrying out assigned duties relative to the detention, security, and discipline of juveniles in accordance with rules and regulations. Employees supervise the daily activities associated with school, recreation, nutritional intake, and housekeeping of the juveniles. Work includes participating in the housekeeping, food service, and recreational activities that are planned for the Center. Employees are also involved in providing supportive and reality counseling with the juveniles. Employee must have patience and use judgment and discretion in dealing with juveniles, family members, the Court system, and visitors. Work is performed under the supervision of the Juvenile Attendant Supervisor assigned to the employee's work shift, and it evaluated by close observation and regular conferences.DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES Admits Juvenile to detention center; interview juveniles to obtain necessary legal, health, and social information. Explains and enforces policies and procedures of the Detention Center to detainees assigned to the center. Plans and supervises activities of the detainees, including housekeeping and personal hygiene. Prepares observation reports on individuals assigned to the Juvenile Detention Center. Assists volunteers with activities that are planned for the juveniles. Promotes positive behavior of juveniles by attempting to modify antisocial attitudes; discouraging undesirable habits, and encouraging worthwhile habits. Searches juveniles and inspects housing for contraband. Enforces rules and regulations for the safety, health, and protection of inmates. May service as lead worker for interim periods of time. Performs related work as assigned. RECRUITMENT STANDARDS Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities Working knowledge of the attitudes, problems and behavior patterns of juveniles under restraint. Working knowledge of the methods, procedures and practices of controlling and supervising juveniles confined to a detention center. Ability to supervise and control juveniles individually and in groups and to work with youth with behavioral problems. Ability to think and act quickly during emergencies. Ability to follow oral and written instructions. Ability to prepare standard reports, Ability to counsel juveniles in appropriate behaviors, attitudes, and habits. MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS Must be currently enrolled at an Institution of Higher Learning (college or university); AND, currently pursuing a degree in Criminal Justice, Law Enforcement, or Human Services. Accounting Winter Part-Time Intern - Arch MI

Aid the finance team in completing month-end close processes and annual filings. Assist Accounting teams with month-end close tasks, such as preparing journal entries, updating internal workpapers, making estimates, and liaising with various departments within Arch Mortgage Insurance. Contribute to applying accounting policies, presenting financial results to team members and management, preparing quarterly and annual reports (both GAAP and Statutory), handling premium tax returns and estimates, enhancing knowledge of ERP systems (specifically Workday), and conducting technical research. Engage with departments through meet-and-greets, lunch-and-learns, and one-on-one discussions. Qualifications Actively completing area of study in Accounting or related program. Intent on becoming a CPA preferred. Minimum 3.0 GPA or higher. Completion of Intermediate Accounting by the start of the internship program strongly preferred.
