VF Corporation Hosts OppGSO Fellows Program Breakfast

As the Opportunity Greensboro Fellows Program is well into the third year of planning, VF Corporation graciously hosted a breakfast at VF Jeanswear on December 15, 2017 in an effort to recruit more local businesses as partners with the 2018 program.

Local business leaders attended the breakfast and were greeted by Steve Rendle, Chairman, President, and CEO, and Ron Lawrence, Vice President of Global Talent Management. Keynote speakers, David Altman, COO for the Center for Creative Leadership, and Tim Leisman, Evaluation Analyst for CCL, shared insights into millennials in the workplace and kept the audience highly engaged.

Program updates were provided by Beth Mannella, Program Director, and guests gained a closer look into the Fellows Program by hearing from two different perspectives. These included learning from:

  • 2017 Fellow, Pawan Gandham: Pawan shared about his experience participating in class two of the program as an intern with Boulton Creative.
  • Vivian Langley, Manager of Human Resources at Cone Health: Vivian shared her experience partnering with the program since the very beginning. Vivian highlighted the ease of partnering, the efficiency of the application and interview processes, and the benefits the program provides to Cone Health and the interns Cone Health hires through the Fellows Program.

Thank you to all business and higher education leaders who attended the breakfast, and an extra thank you to VFC for coordinating this event and advocating for this important program!
