Please meet today’s Featured Fellow, Lisanne Bluemel!
Lisanne Bluemel is interning with the Global Opportunities Center as the Community Engagement intern. Lisanne is originally from Iserlohn, Germany, and she graduated in May 2016 from UNCG with a Master’s degree in Peace and Conflict Studies. Lisanne appreciates Greensboro’s weather and the open-minded & friendly citizens!
Lisanne shares about her Fellows Program experience thus far: My time at the Global Opportunities (GO) Center has been a great experience so far. I really enjoy working with the GO Center Launch Director, Cindy Thompson, as she provides me with many invaluable pieces of advice on work and life, while always having a smile on her face. Due to the fact that the GO Center launched in the beginning of this year, my tasks are quite diverse and range from fundraising to website design. However, the main focus of my internship is on program development. This is a job I really appreciate because the program reflects my personal interest in international higher education. Moreover, I love to work at the HQ Greensboro space – the developer did a great job in creating an open-minded and welcoming atmosphere. Overall, the Fellows Program has been a unique experience that makes me feel like I finally discovered the ‘real’ Greensboro.
