Tyrell Beverly is today’s Featured Fellow!

Tyrell Beverly is originally from Philadelphia, PA, and came to North Carolina to study Supply Chain Systems at NC A&T. This summer, Tyrell is interning with Global Brand Groups in the Customs Compliance sector. Tyrell finds Greensboro to be a very diverse city with different areas filled with wonderful scenery, as well as a big city/small town feel.

Tyrell Beverly 2The Opportunity Greensboro Fellows Program has been amazing and a great blessing for me! After living in and traveling to multiple cities on the east coast, I never truly had the chance to explore each city the way I should have. The Fellows Program not only opened the door for exploration, but it also gave me sense of being “home.” Coming from a very large city like Philadelphia, I did not have high expectations of the many things to do in Greensboro, North Carolina. However, this program made it possible for me to eat at restaurants I probably would not have visited, as well as see monuments and different places in the city, and even attend my first baseball game.

The internship I was very fortunately placed in was a great experience. I have learned so much about myself, my work ethic, leadership development and community involvement, and professionalism in a corporate setting. In addition, I learned about the different Global Brands Group organizational functions and how they work together to achieve a common goal, networking and building stronger professional relationships, and tricks to stay awake every day when the 3:00PM time drag comes along. Overall, I am glad I decided to read the email to apply to the Opportunity Greensboro Fellows Program. The entire program was geared towards giving some of Greensboro’s young and talented students the opportunity to intern in Greensboro and consider Greensboro as the place to live and start their careers after graduation. While there are many things can alter the future, I believe with the right opportunity, I could really see myself remaining apart of the Greensboro community for a long time.
