The 2018 Fellows Program wrapped up with a Closing Reception on August 6th with 250+ business stakeholders, community leaders, Fellows Program mentors, and Fellows in attendance. The event was sponsored by Lincoln Financial Group and was held at the Cadillac Service Garage in downtown Greensboro.
As the summer came to a close, we surveyed the 114 Fellows on their summer experience, as well as how their perceptions of Greensboro may have evolved after their participation in the Fellows Program. Below are some high-level data points:
“Not only have I truly enjoyed being a part of this wonderful community, I have grown so much this summer from both a personal and professional standpoint. This program has really pushed me to step out of my comfort zone from mentally taking charge and being a leader, to physically hanging in trees at the SKYWILD ropes course. This was definitely my best summer yet!”
– Jacqueline Tu, 2018 Fellow, Intern with HAECO Americas
“When the summer first started, I viewed the program as a convenient networking opportunity. But after our first event, I was already impressed and excited. I loved getting to know my mentor and other students. The events helped me professionally and I loved getting to know the downtown area. All and all, I think I’m sold on settling in Greensboro after graduation.”
– Jenna Barone, 2018 Fellow, Intern with RLF Communications
“This program left me with a multitude of professional skills, connections, and wonderful friends. This summer has been one to remember and showed me Greensboro in a new light!”
– Isabel Hewgley, 2018 Fellow, Intern with Charles Aris
