Opportunity Greensboro Fellows Program kicks off at HQ Greensboro!

On Sunday, June 5th, the Opportunity Greensboro Fellows Program kicked off with a pizza party reception at HQ Greensboro in downtown. Fellows enjoyed meeting one another while chowing down on delicious Mellow Mushroom pizza, pretzels and salad.

The evening was a great opportunity start the program in a relaxed social atmosphere while also learning about Opportunity Greensboro and how the program was created.

Muhammed Akbay, a rising senior at UNCG studying computer science, expressed his great enthusiasm for being part of the first cohort. “I know I’ll have so many questions to ask this summer while going through the program, I’m just too excited to think of them now!” This summer, Muhammed will intern at Cone Health in human resources.

Special thanks to Sara Pilling and Andy Zimmerman at HQ Greensboro for hosting the group. The students loved learning about the creative restore of the historic building!
